Smart Buildings begin with smart choices.
A building only becomes truly intelligent when light does more than illuminate. When it connects and orchestrates. With TRILUX, lighting becomes the central nervous system of a smart building, where people, systems and assets come together in one intelligent network.

PEOPLE, SYSTEMS, ASSETS

CONNECTED BY LIGHT

In every smart building, connection is key. People seek comfort, efficiency and a healthy environment. Systems provide intelligence, control and interaction. Assets such as lighting, HVAC and security form the physical infrastructure. What connects these powered elements is light. Lighting is present in every space and forms the building’s natural nervous system. Through luminaires and sensors, data is collected, shared and used to automate and optimize processes. This creates one intelligent network in which people, systems and assets collaborate, connected by light.

Energy

Energy consumption in a building is directly linked to presence and activity. In a smart building, this is continuously monitored via the lighting network. Energy can therefore be aligned per space with actual usage and available daylight, allowing peaks to be controlled without compromising comfort.

Space & Occupancy

Insight into space usage begins with measuring actual presence. Sensors integrated in the lighting register which workstations and rooms are being used and for how long. This provides a realistic picture of occupancy and supports data driven decisions regarding layout and capacity.

Light Management

Light management forms the intelligent foundation of the building. Luminaires detect presence and daylight, continuously adjusting light levels accordingly. This keeps lighting stable for users while creating an infrastructure that also supports other building systems.

Climate & Air Quality

A healthy indoor climate requires continuous monitoring of CO₂, temperature and humidity. Through sensor technology built into the lighting system, air quality and occupancy are monitored per space. Based on this data, ventilation and climate systems are precisely controlled and automized, ensuring that comfort, health and energy efficiency remain in balance.

User Experience & Wellbeing

Workplace wellbeing requires an environment aligned with the natural rhythm of the day. By monitoring light and usage and responding accordingly, a stable working environment is created that supports concentration and prevents unnecessary visual strain. Dynamic lighting through Human Centric Lighting supports wellbeing by adapting light levels and color temperature to natural rhythms, enhancing comfort and focus.

Safety & Security

Safety is continuously supported by sensors within the lighting system. The system registers presence and deviations in usage patterns and identifies unusual situations. The building remains transparent and controllable without disrupting daily operations. Additional automated emergency lighting checks (ELMo) and digital reporting ensure compliance, reliability, and peace of mind with minimal effort.

Cleaning & Facility Services

Facility services become more effective when based on actual usage. Monitoring occupancy provides insight into which spaces require attention. Cleaning can be planned precisely and resources can be deployed more efficiently. Connected systems also provide real-time insight into operational status, usage hours, lifespan, and error codes, enabling timely and predictive maintenance before issues arise.

Sustainability & Reporting

Sustainability & Reporting Structural insight into energy consumption and space usage forms the basis for sustainable management. By collecting data through lighting and sensors, performance becomes measurable and reporting on efficiency and building use becomes substantiated and transparent.

TRILUX Smart Buildings

In Action

More than 1,000 buildings have taken the first step toward a fully Smart Building together with TRILUX. They chose a future-proof infrastructure in which intelligent lighting forms the foundation for insight, efficiency and comfort. With scalable solutions, these buildings grow step by step into an integrated, data-driven ecosystem.

  • Smart Building
    Tripolis Park

The redesign of TRIPOLIS Park in Amsterdam combines everything a lighting company could dream of in a project. With the aim of creating a cutting-edge office campus, the new development blends the listed buildings on the park-like grounds with a spectacular new building. The 11-storey structure shields the site from the adjacent motorway, creating a protected and enclosed atmosphere. Our mission was to develop a smart, energy-efficient and, above all, attractive lighting solution for all areas – indoors and outdoors - from a single source.

  • Smart Building
    BNP Paribas

With its new corporate headquarters, Montagne du Parc, in Brussels, the leading French multinational bank BNP Paribas has created a blueprint for the working environments of the future - combining spectacular architecture, well-being and sustainability. As a full service lighting provider, we delivered the multi-award-winning large-scale project with 14,000 light points.
