Human perception, in all its facets, is our benchmark for quality of light, visual comfort and ergonomics. Perception is multi-layered, and our eye is a highly sensitive instrument that also registers effects beyond normative guidelines. This includes glare from high-contrast single points of light as well as differences in light colour on surfaces: the so-called ‘colour-over-angle’ effect. It is caused by uneven conversion of the light in the light-emitting layer of LEDs.
With the LENSIBLE optics, TRILUX lighting engineers present an innovative technology inspired by nature: for optimised visual comfort due to reduced luminance levels and contrasts on the lens – and for light with excellent image quality without compromising on efficiency.
THE ADVANTAGES
Lens optics with LENSIBLE technology from TRILUX have got it right: impressive colour clarity and uniformity, minimised glare and efficiently scalable. A technology inspired by nature, centred on people – and with the potential to change our perception of spaces.
HIGHER QUALITY OF LIGHT
Thanks to optimum colour clarity
Small twist, big effect: in LENSIBLE optics the individual lens elements are arranged radially in clusters (like petals), which reduces the colour-over-angle effect on the target surface. For visibly superior colour clarity and uniformity.

OPTIMISING VISUAL COMFORT
Especially with lens optics, the usual UGR assessment method reaches its limits. LENSIBLE optics not only fulfil the standard, but also reduce subjective glare through lower contrasts on the light-emitting surface. To achieve this, a spiral-shaped microstructure based on bionic principles lies over the lenses. This reduces the contrasts for a particularly calm light emission. The side surfaces of the lens element additionally couple out a light component for contrast regulation, comparable to the ‘Low Contrast Light’ technology in TRILUX outdoor luminaires.

IMPROVE THE IMAGE QUALITY
Unwanted colour fringing occurs when the light from an LED travels different distances through the light-emitting layer depending on the beam angle, causing the spectrum to shift, usually towards yellow (colour-over-angle). Conventional lens optics for LEDs can intensify this effect on the target surface, especially when arranged in uniform rows. Visible yellow fringes are the result, and these distort the colours of surfaces and objects. LENSIBLE optics solve this technical challenge by arranging the lenses radially in clusters. The precisely calculated, multiple overlapping of the light beams equalises the colour fringes – for optimum colour clarity and uniform quality of light.

EXCELLENCE MEETS EFFICIENCY
With the 3x2 cluster as a performance booster
LENSIBLE optics can be scaled for applications with special performance requirements by using the 3x2 cluster. The larger number of LEDs enables higher luminous flux levels overall or even better quality of light and visual comfort with the same lumen package – with an efficiency of up to 220 lm/W at peak values.

SCALING PERFORMANCE
For the majority of typical applications, LENSIBLE optics with 2x2 clusters will provide the optimum combination of quality of light and economy. Wherever there are special requirements, the 3x2 clusters offer a performance boost in several dimensions. The additional light points
- Extend the system bandwidth to overall higher lumen packages, for example for high rooms or demanding visual tasks
- Reduce contrasts at the light emission surface compared to 2x2 clusters while maintaining the same total luminous flux, thus further increasing visual comfort.
- Increase the light output ratio due to the more favourable current supply of the LED – to peak values of up to 220 lm/W
